This design approach for this project, a quite residence area in Canberra, was an attempt at a new kind of space transformation through an interpretation of the traditional Korean architecture and its environment.
Two identical rectangular forms and front facade joining them. Each form represent the private and public space, so it generates a blank space in between two forms. It's call 'Madang' in Korean Architectural terms. This Madang creates as an open space so that it has its own structure, program, the site, and the architecture set up - communicating and creating peoples lives together.
